Job Overview
As part of the North America Supply Chain organization, the Sr. Customer Order Management Specialist is responsible for coordinating the movement of shipments from the Distribution Center to BD affiliates. The position will interface with key stakeholders (regional business units, distribution operations, and business unit supply chain) and facilitate the efficient & timely flow of orders across the supply chain network by resolving discrepancies. The position will report to the Supervisor, Customer Order Management.
Responsibilities
Follow established procedures and policies for functional units and quality systems while ensuring adherence to regulatory, business, and department guidelines. Escalate potentially serious incidents to appropriate management levels.
Resolve sales order issues, ensure accurate order fulfillment, and meet or exceed established order accuracy standards. Modify orders in ERP systems, warehouse management, and transit management systems as required by regional specifications.
Handle all customer contacts professionally and courteously, providing accurate and prompt responses while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of business unit services and products through ongoing training and development.
Work with distribution centers as a liaison to support on-time delivery and other key performance indicators. Manage short-supply situations, backorders, and manual allocations as required.
Execute training responsibilities for new associates, lead refresher training sessions as needed, and adjust staffing assignments for efficient workflow management to meet all service level agreements.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 1 year experience with ERP system(s).
SAP experience required.
High School Diploma.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role (export, logistics, order management, customer service).
Minimum of 2 years' prior experience in a related industry (e.g., medical device, healthcare supply chain, pharmaceutical).
Strong team player with impactful verbal and written communication skills.

Skilled at setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple tasks.
Versatile learner with the ability to function in a changing environment.

Self-motivated and productive with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in standard business computer software applications preferred (MS Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Beginner to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
