Job Description Summary

Software Engineering Project Management is responsible for managing the execution of programs and/or projects consisting of single, multiple or system-level projects. Works within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while managing and communicating risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.

Seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, and experienced person to lead and adopt our defined SAFe Agile Software Development practices. The ideal candidate is a professional who is a program or project manager for a company that develops enterprise-class software applications, has led multiple teams of software engineers indirectly reporting to the candidate, with experience in managing geographically dispersed teams.

Strong management skills with a proven record of providing direction and leadership to others are essential. The candidate must be a highly effective communicator and problem-solver. The candidate must also possess demonstrated skills in leading and managing change; should possess the ability to pull together ideas and suggestions, shape them into a vision, and then implement this in the project plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing large and complex projects or programs
• Defining and managing scope, time, and resources
• Facilitating risk/issue identification and developing mitigation plans
• Refining project management methodologies
• Communicating business implications to stakeholders
• Consulting with senior management and non-technology personnel
• Providing leadership through coaching, mentoring, and training
• Driving consistency of departmental SAFe practices
• Contributing to strategic goal-setting
• Managing multiple project deployments and integrations
• Leading cross-functional teams toward operational objectives

Minimum Requirements

• Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 6+ years of related work experience
• Experience in highly government-regulated, healthcare/medical device environment
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• OnePlan Portfolio Management knowledge
• Practical knowledge and application of SAFe software development principles
• Experience leading multiple teams of software engineers
• Experience managing geographically dispersed teams
• Experience in delivering products within an end-to-end software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Ability to use Jira/Confluence
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working with matrixed resources
• Solid understanding of software development work, practices, and culture
• Understanding of stage-gate or similar innovation management processes
• Meeting facilitation skills and action item tracking experience
