Job Description
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Schedule and prioritize jobs using ERP systems (Job Boss preferred)
- Coordinate workflow across multiple work centers to meet production goals and deadlines
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-first team environment
Operational Excellence
- Monitor daily production performance and track KPIs to drive efficiency and throughput
- Analyze manufacturing processes and implement improvements to reduce cycle time and increase productivity
- Ensure optimal machine utilization and proper equipment handling
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all quality standards, GMPs, and company procedures
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations (including hazardous materials and waste handling)
- Partner with quality teams to resolve issues and improve overall product quality
Technical Oversight
- Support CNC machining operations including setup, programming, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with tooling vendors to source and improve workholding and cutting tools
- Assist with equipment maintenance, minor troubleshooting, and uptime optimization
Continuous Improvement
- Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the operation
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance output
Additional Responsibilities
- Train employees on equipment use, maintenance, and safety standards
- Manage resources, including external vendors, to support production goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 5+ years of machine shop experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Experience in CNC machining environments required
Technical Skills
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Experience with ERP systems (Job Boss preferred)
- Proficiency in CNC setup and programming (Mastercam preferred)
- Knowledge of tooling, materials, and machining processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Effective communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of safety, ergonomics, and quality systems
- Solid project management and production planning experience
- High level of accountability, initiative, and attention to detail
