Job Overview

The Home Care business within BD is unique in that it can manufacture products for consumers in the home and service them through our medical distribution subsidiary, Liberator Medical.  This business unit engages with a variety of stakeholders that range from B2B2C and leverages omni-channels to drive awareness, engagement, conversion, and retention of our customers. 

We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist (CIS) to oversee all aspects of process improvement opportunities throughout Liberator Medical.  In this role, you will manage Kaizen, Greenbelt and Blackbelt projects while collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization.  The CIS will identify areas of process opportunities across operations, revenue cycle management, administration, and technology and develop a framework and training programs to adopt BD excellence at Liberator Medical.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a change champion and key partner in new technology implementations and roll outs supporting the process mapping and cross functional collaboration to streamline workflow and eliminate inefficiencies. 
  • Ability to identify process bottlenecks and inefficiencies in addition to being skilled in root cause analysis identification and comfortable with data-driven decision making.
  • Be an expert that can teach and execute in the BD Excellence fundamentals of Problem Solving, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement applications.  Identify and facilitate continuous improvement (Kaizen) events to achieve and sustain improvement results.
  • Partner with Urology & Critical Care (UCC) BD Excellence leadership to develop tools and training to expand the adoption of BD Excellence and leverage future opportunities.
  • Support the key initiatives via BD Excellence, including financial performance and process flow optimization. Establish key performance indicators and action plans to drive rigor, prioritization and ownership.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • MBA preferred
  • Certification in Green Belt, Black Belt, Continuous Improvement Management or related Certifications preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years’ Continuous Improvement (CI) experience in a healthcare, customer service or call center setting required with minimum 3 years’ experience in an organization leading and managing process improvement initiatives utilizing CI tools including visual management, problem solving, and kaizen required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile methodologies required
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment with the ability to influence key stakeholders and champion change and present data insights to non-technical audiences required
  • Excellent presentation skills including workshop execution experience with the ability to analyze large scales of data required
  • Ability to prioritize initiatives based on ROI and strategic alignment that are focused on measurable outcomes; cost reduction, process cycle time, quality improvements and customer satisfaction required
