ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Designs, develops, andmodifiesproduction machinery and equipment to improve quality and costs.

• Coordinates vendor design, acceptance criteria, placement into operation, anddebugging ofnew production equipment and machinery.

• Investigates,specifiesand provides economic justification of new production machinery,equipmentandprocess.

• Troubleshoot and solve technical problemspertaining toproduction machinery,equipmentand process.

• Supplies andmaintaindrawing files for all production machinery and equipment.

• Provides written or on-site technicalassistanceto the other plants manufacturingsimilar products.

• Coordinates manufacture and supply of production machinery or equipment to other plants.

• Coordinates engineering activity with Maintenance and Machine Shop Supervision.

• Closely coordinates engineering activities on Division R&D projections as directed.

• Prepares standards for Preventive Maintenance, MODs, ERCOs, andissuesproper documentation for manufacturing.

• GeneratesCB2’sand provides technical information needed tomaintaincapital expenses budget.

• Provides assistancein all phases of Budget and Standards preparation.

• Supervises and assures the proper use of engineering methods and techniques such as time study, work simplification, systemsanalysisand value analysis.

• Promotes and evaluates cost reduction, qualityimprovementsand capacity expansion programs/strategies and asappropriate determinestheir economic and technical feasibility.

• Supervises the preparation of all layouts for cost reductions, new products, etc., andmaintainup-to-date layouts of plant equipment.

• Proposes and implements changes in plant processes and equipment to increase efficiency and improve overall cost positions.  Includes total responsibility for preparation of design concepts and project submittal papers such as estimates of expenditure,savingsand payback.

• Designs,recommendsand implements cost reduction projects within the scope of annualplant targetedgoals.

• Designs safety and comfort into processes and equipment.

• Completes and/or supervises the completion of necessary equipment specifications, designs, drawings, etc.

• Provides support to technicians as needed tomaintainproduction goals.

• Plays a primary role inon-goingsupport and leadership of the cultural transformation process.

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Performs other duties as directed by the Senior Technical Leader.

• May berequiredto take on a leading role, such as assigning activities to others who perform work that is closely related to this position.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

• H.S. Diploma/ G.E.D

• Vocational/ Technical School Preferred (Industrial Maintenance).

• Associates DegreePreferred

• Minimum of 5years experiencein a high-speed manufacturing environment.
