Job Description Summary

​As the Diagnostic Solutions Account Executive you are responsible for selling, profitable growth and total account management activities for all defined products within the DS Product Portfolio in hospitals and clinical labs within the assigned territory.

  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    Develops and executes a comprehensive territory and strategic account plan to drive growth across assigned products. Leads account-specific strategies aligned with each hospital’s economic and business priorities.
  • Customer Engagement & Value Communication:
    Effectively communicates clinical and economic value using existing and customized tools. Demonstrates product benefits to multiple stakeholders, including lab personnel, clinicians, pharmacy, and hospital administration, to drive purchasing decisions.
  • Sales Process Management:
    Manages the full sales cycle, including demand generation, product demonstrations, and contract negotiations. Coordinates with all decision-makers and influencers to secure successful product conversions and long-term adoption.
  • Collaboration & Team Selling:
    Works closely with BD’s cross-functional teams (Instrument, Clinical, and Lab Automation Specialists; National Accounts; Service Engineers; Applications Specialists) and distribution partners to support customer success and retention.
  • Revenue Growth & Customer Support:
    Maintains and grows base revenue while ensuring high customer satisfaction through consistent engagement and post-sale support. Provides ongoing communication with service teams to ensure smooth installations and transitions.
  • Market & Account Intelligence:
    Tracks and communicates customer needs, competitive insights, and supply chain updates to internal and distributor teams. Identifies new revenue opportunities and protects existing business through proactive account management.
  • Administrative Excellence:
    Manages reporting, forecasting, expense tracking, CRM updates, contract management, and compliance with company policies, including BD’s Code of Conduct and AdvaMed guidelines.
  • Product Portfolio Focus:
    Supports the full Diagnostic Systems (DS) portfolio, including Manual Microbiology, Blood Culture, TB, ID/AST, and Molecular Diagnostics.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards.
