Job Description
Key Result Areas
In-country Marketing Strategy Development
- Translate regional marketing strategy into country specific strategy (e.g., product launches, marketing campaigns, customer campaigns, solution concepts, etc.) with a focus on customer needs and packaging complementary products as holistic solutions
In-country Marketing Strategy Execution
- Lead and execute intra segment marketing initiatives and programmes
- Manage the BD brand amongst external stakeholders and ensure differentiation against competition
Drive the BD Way of Marketing
- Work collaboratively with the SEA Marketing Manager to develop and implement best practices in brand marketing and product development
- Include use of BD Way of Marketing in the development of best practices
Provide Analytical, Data-Driven Insights
- Drive regular analytics and insights into the local market and customers
- Conduct competitive research
Management of Clinical Resources
- Provide input on allocation / deployment of clinical resources
- Leverage on the BD Way of Marketing to ensure teams are engaging customers in a standardised way
III. Preferred Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and knowledge of the clinical and life sciences markets and a demonstrated ability to lead, grow and develop diverse teams.
- Experience in marketing strategy planning through to execution and leading teams in the Medical Device industry
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare and 3+ years in pharmaceutical marketing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Pharmacy or related science is required, and an MBA is preferred

- Experience with Medical Device

- Delivers a clear, compelling, and shared marketing vision focused on delighting our customers
- Cultivates and nurtures an open, transparent, and psychologically safe environment
- Empowers teams through targeted coaching, delegation of responsibilities and actively removing barriers to high performance
- Self-motivated individual who thrives on innovation and is results-oriented
- Excellent command of Bahasa Malaysia and English (i.e., written and spoken)
Building Strategic Partnership across Interdependent Teams
- Develop strategic relationships with high value stakeholders / interdependent teams (e.g., Regional Marketing Counterparts)
- Lead and manage dependencies with interdependent team functions
Distributor management
- Identify and build effective relationships with strategic distribution partners. Engage the distributors in developing and executing business strategies in alignment with market and customer needs
- Work closely with distributors to develop in-depth knowledge of customers and target accounts through a detailed account profiling methodology to include areas such as competitor activity, market share potential/penetration, key contacts/key decision makers, estimated revenue and profitability in the present and forecasted growth potential
- Collaborate with Distributors to create stakeholder management plans for KOLs and deliver CMEs and product training to drive awareness
Sales Strategy Development and Execution
- Work collaboratively with the National Sales Manager to develop sales strategies that facilitate the development of the BD Account Plan for identified accounts
- Lead all aspects of the sales process across the sales funnel, including developing sales forecast and tracking customer segment performance
- Refine and implement sales improvement initiatives at the country level in collaboration with Business Excellence
- Effectively use data to drive strategic decision making on sales pursuits
