Job Description
We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Specimen Management team in the Benelux, covering the South of the Netherlands. This is a field-based role with around 80% of time spent with customers, focused on driving profitable growth, strengthening long-term partnerships, and delivering excellent account management across the territory. To support effective customer engagement and territory ownership, you should be based in the South of the Netherlands.
You will take full ownership of your region, building strong customer relationships and positioning BD as a trusted partner. You will work closely with laboratories, healthcare professionals, procurement teams, and internal colleagues to support customers and deliver sustainable business growth.
BD Specimen Management
Diagnostic test results influence over 70% of clinical decisions, making the accuracy of specimen collection and transport crucial. BD’s Specimen Management business is a global leader in preanalytics, providing billions of high-quality devices annually to support reliable diagnostic outcomes. These advanced technologies enhance the safe and efficient handling of diagnostic specimens, empowering clinicians to make informed decisions across a wide range of healthcare scenarios—from routine checkups to disease diagnosis and treatment. Central to its offerings are BD Vacutainer® products for blood and urine collection, designed to ensure accurate results throughout the testing process.
Responsibilities:
- Own and execute a multi‑year territory strategy focused on growth, expansion, and retention.
- Manage a defined customer base and build productive relationships across clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders.
- Drive customer satisfaction through regular engagement, clear expectation management, and timely response to questions and issues.
- Understand customer workflows, challenges, and requirements to conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions that showcase the value and benefits of BD’s Specimen Management solutions.
- Progress opportunities through pricing, tendering, contracting, and implementation, involving specialised experts where deeper technical input is required.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, opportunity management, and governance in Salesforce (SFDC), and provide clear performance insight during business reviews.
Preferred Requirements:
- Proven experience in hospital sales, ideally in IVD, blood sciences laboratories, specimen management, or phlebotomy
- Previous experience in account management within complex healthcare environments involving procurement-led decision making
- Strong ability to manage a sales territory and progress opportunities through longer and more complex sales cycles
- Commercial confidence with experience in negotiation, account planning, and delivering profitable business growth
- Fluent in DUtch and English
- Clear communication skills, resilience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial environment
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel extensively across the South of the Netherlands with occasional international travel

€56,900.00 - €86,750.00 EUR Annual
