About the role
Reporting to the Moulding Planned Maintenance Leader, the Preventative Maintenance Technician (Moulding) is responsible for executing and optimising preventative maintenance routines on injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment. The role includes ownership of planned maintenance cycles, shutdown coordination, and collaboration with Production, Engineering and Stores to ensure effective delivery of maintenance plans. The role supports continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Main responsibilities will include:
Comply with Good Manufacturing Procedures, safe working practices and the requirement for high standards of housekeeping in all areas where machine maintenance work is undertaken.
Ensures that any statutory legislation and/or quality system requirements are adhered to with regard to process changes and equipment modification.
Be prepared to respond to emergencies by working overtime as required by the Moulding Planned Maintenance Leader.
Establish clear written maintenance procedures for each machine. This will include checklists and maintenance intervals.
Ensure all equipment is maintained as assigned, and in accordance with requirements detailed on the appropriate schedule/plan or work instruction.
Maintain spares records to facilitate replenishment and cost control. Coach, mentor, and train maintenance associates to use logical root cause analysis during the resolution of mould machine issues.
Ensure that containment, corrective and preventative measures are implemented.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and process improvements to deliver PM maintenance plan.
Ensure that resource requirements are captured within the budget cycle. Individuals have the authority to execute all responsibilities detailed within their job description and any procedures or processes in C2C or otherwise.
Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
About you:
Time served as an apprenticeship or equivalent preferred.
ONC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Experience ideally within a high-volume injection moulding environment.
Experience in performing duties associated with mould machine maintenance and repair.
Experience in training and developing individuals.
Experience with SAP or maintenance systems
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
Ability to work to engineering drawings is pre-requisite.
Strong planning and organisational skills
Root cause analysis capability
Strong communication skills
IT literacy including SAP
Strong safety and quality focus
