About the Role

• The Supplier Excellence Manager is responsible for driving measurable operational excellence and performance improvement across BD’s strategic and preferred supplier base. This role partners closely with Category Management, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations to improve supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, capacity, resiliency, and innovation.
• Lead the development of Should Cost Models leveraging advanced Cost and Value Engineering methodologies for a wide portfolio of technologies, from low to highly complex products and across low- to high-volume manufacturing environments
• This is a remote-based role; however, the preferred candidate location should be within approximately 1–2 hours of Wrocław, as occasional presence in the office is required for team meetings, collaboration, and business needs.
• For this position, the expected base salary ranges from 16,800 - 19,000 PLN monthly. This reflects a more accurate range than the broader salary band indicated at the end of the job advertisement. The role also includes additional benefits, including an annual bonus.

Main Responsibilities:

• Drive enterprise-wide cost competitiveness and value creation by leading advanced Cost and Value Engineering strategies, developing Should Cost Models across diverse technologies, and influencing sourcing, negotiation, and product development decisions.
• Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to identify, quantify, and realize sustainable cost reduction, productivity, and margin improvement opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead Design-to-Value (DTV), value engineering, and cost optimization initiatives, translating technical and commercial insights into measurable business impact, improved cost transparency, and accelerated decision-making.
• Serve as a strategic advisor during supplier negotiations and sourcing activities, leveraging cost intelligence, market insights, and manufacturing expertise to strengthen commercial outcomes and supplier performance.
• Drive supplier operational excellence and capability development through Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement programs, delivering improvements in quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and responsiveness.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, technology roadmaps, and operational maturity, identifying risks and opportunities to strengthen supply chain resilience and long-term competitiveness.
• Lead supplier performance transformation initiatives, establishing improvement strategies and ensuring execution against key operational and business objectives.
• Enable successful product launches and innovation programs through early supplier engagement, manufacturing readiness assessments, and capacity planning to mitigate risk and accelerate commercialization.
• Champion the deployment of business excellence methodologies and best practices across the supply base, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and value creation.
• Influence executive and cross-functional stakeholders globally, aligning technical, operational, and commercial priorities to achieve strategic business objectives.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in: Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related technical field.
• 6–10 years of experience in: Supplier development, Supplier quality, Design to Value, Manufacturing engineering, Supply chain operations, Experience working with global manufacturing supplier, driving operational improvements within supplier organizations.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and German, Italian or Spanish
• Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work in a global, matrix organization
