Meet Aidee Garay, Senior Talent Manager of LATAM, who says “building relationships with stakeholders, the leadership teams, and HR colleagues to develop an understanding of their current and future demand for talent” is what is most rewarding in her role.

“Being one of the first contacts for talent candidates is a very enriching experience and a great responsibility when representing BD -- being able to present to them the world of possibilities that we have is incredibly gratifying,” said Aidee.

Internal Talent Mobility Supports Various Experiences

Aidee’s career journey at BD began in 2013 as an HR Business Partner supporting various businesses and functions including MDS, IDS, the Shared Service Center in Cuautitlan, Mexico, the San Luis Potosí Plant, and the Distribution Center in Mexico. During her tenure, she has had the opportunity to participate in various projects that helped develop and strengthen her skills as a Human Resources professional. Some of the projects include the implementation of Workday, Certifications for the Cuautitlan Plant, such as Inclusive Company, Family Responsible Company, and Working Mothers among many others.

In 2018, Aidee had the opportunity to move into a Talent Attraction Manager role for the Cuautitlan Plant, Mexico and Central America, and the Caribbean (CCA) Corporate Offices. Then in 2021, the scope of the Talent Acquisition (TA) Center of Excellence in Mexico expanded to support the manufacturing sites in Mexico allowing the team in Mexico to collaborate more closely in the talent attraction space.

Aidee proudly shares that during her 11 years at BD, most of her experiences have been positive. She adds, "BD cares for and invests in their associates with significant professional development and truly rewards effort. They help you grow not only professionally, but personally, which is why I am proud to be part of this great organization."

One area that can be challenging is attracting and hiring potential talent. “The interests of candidates have changed, as there is an increase in demand for hybrid working models, emotional benefits, and working for companies that embrace hyperconnectivity. At BD, we continue to stay attuned to these trends that matter to candidates, and we strive to be at the forefront, so we can offer a diverse and inclusive environment where they are empowered and supported to be makers of possible.”

When asked why she remains at BD, Aidee shares that “Being a part of BD fills me with great pride because it provides a stable, healthy, and inclusive work environment for all its associates. BD has a strong focus on the care and development of its internal talent, which generates a positive work environment, as well as offers the opportunity to balance between work and personal life.”
