Job Description

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) is responsible for defining and executing product strategies for software-enabled medical devices, digital health solutions, and connected healthcare platforms. The TPM serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, customers, engineering teams, quality, regulatory, and clinical organizations to ensure products deliver customer value while meeting performance, quality, safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
The role owns product vision, roadmap development, requirements definition, and prioritization, guiding products from concept through commercialization and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Vision

• Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
• Identify market opportunities, customer pain points, and emerging healthcare technology trends.
• Collaborate with business leaders to develop product investment strategies and long-term roadmaps.
• Support portfolio planning and product lifecycle management activities.

Requirements and Product Definition

• Gather and analyze customer, clinical, business, and technical requirements.
• Translate customer needs into detailed product requirements and user stories.
• Prioritize features based on customer value, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and business impact.
• Maintain and manage the product backlog.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Lead collaboration across Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, Service, and Marketing teams.
• Facilitate alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
• Support product development teams throughout the design, development, verification, validation, and release process.
• Participate in product reviews, design reviews, and project governance activities.

Technical Leadership

• Partner with architects and engineering teams to evaluate technical solutions and tradeoffs.
• Drive discussions related to system architecture, integration, cybersecurity, interoperability, cloud solutions, AI-enabled capabilities, and software scalability.
• Ensure technical feasibility and risk mitigation of proposed product features.
• Support technology selection and platform strategy decisions.

Quality, Regulatory, and Risk Management

• Ensure products comply with applicable regulatory standards and quality system requirements.
• Support Design Controls, Risk Management, Verification & Validation, and Cybersecurity activities.
• Partner with Quality and Regulatory organizations to ensure successful submissions and product releases.
• Promote patient safety, product reliability, and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

Product Delivery and Execution

• Track progress against roadmap commitments and business objectives.
• Facilitate release planning and prioritization decisions.
• Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and operational metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and future product enhancements.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in Product Management, Software Development, Systems Engineering, or Technical Program Management.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
