Job Summary
The SM Warehouse Clerk is responsible for supporting efficient warehouse operations, primarily focusing on receiving, storing, and issuing materials to ensure accurate inventory and timely delivery of goods within BD Puerto Rico LLC's facilities.
Job Responsibilities
Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantities against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies or damages.
Accurately store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization, accessibility, and adherence to safety guidelines.
Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to work orders or shipping requests, ensuring correct item identification and packaging for safe transport.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks in a safe and efficient manner (certification may be required or provided).
Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts, assisting with physical inventories, and reporting any stock variances.
Process shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and internal transfer forms.
Assist with the general upkeep and cleanliness of the warehouse, including sweeping, organizing, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Collaborate with other warehouse personnel, production, and logistics teams to facilitate smooth material flow.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or materials handling role preferred.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with inventory management systems or data entry is a plus.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and material handling.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) or willingness to be trained and certified.
Knowledge of basic safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
