Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing payroll processing for the Holdrege facility and three Columbus sites. The role collaborates closely with department leaders and Administrative Assistants to ensure accurate timekeeping for all hourly associates. Key responsibilities include:
Following up on missed punches
Accurately recording tardiness
Correcting time entry errors
Adjusting schedules in ADP for associate changes
Resolving pay issues related to leave
In addition to payroll duties, this role serves as the primary point of contact for both internal and external customers. This role addresses associate inquiries professionally and directs them to the appropriate Centers of Excellence (COEs) when needed.
The position requires a high level of confidentiality, respect for all associates, and sound judgment. It is expected to maintain a calm and professional demeanor while applying policies fairly and consistently. Individual will support the Columbus associates by rotating on a regular basis between the two major sites.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the Human Resources department with various tasks and events. Generating reports related to Headcount Reconciliation, Absenteeism, and Overtime tracking as required. The role ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as all applicable local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations.
Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this role. The ability to read, write, and converse in English is required. The successful candidate must be willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for accurate time review in ADP for all departments.
Ensures the accurate and timely bi-weekly submission of the site payroll.
Conducts regular Administrative Assistant meetings to discuss payroll issues and ensure consistency.
Responsible for verifying manual time entries due to misplaced or forgotten badges and ensuring accurate daily input of this time.
Reviews all associate updates in Workday to ensure that schedules are accurately reflected and integrated into ADP, including new hires, transfers, and promotions.
Reviews all leave approvals from Sedgwick and ensures the proper allocation of PTO time as appropriate. Updates codes to accurately reflect the changes.
Submit miscellaneous payments.
Manages Perfect Attendance program.
Generates monthly Headcount report for Finance.
Runs and distributes the monthly Overtime report.
Updates monthly absenteeism reports.
Assists in the preparation of special reports and special projects as required.
Supports New Hire Orientation training.
Addresses all associate inquiries related to payroll, direct deposit and timekeeping and provides appropriate support.
Communicates effectively and promptly with peers, support teams, and management, including escalating issues when necessary.
Ensures confidentiality by safeguarding sensitive associate information.
Works overtime as required by the department. Work flexible hours based on business needs.
Other duties as required to support the needs of the businesses.
Education:
High School diploma required
Associate’s degree in business preferred
Experience:
Demonstrated experience with ADP timekeeping system required
Two years of administrative support experience in a fast-paced office environment required
HR experience preferred
Bilingual skills preferred
