Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, install, repair, start-up/commissioning, operate, and troubleshoot critical utilities and systems related to sterilization equipment and support systems including steam boilers, hot water, chiller, and nitrogen system.

  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot the Sterilization building HVAC, electrical, lighting and plumbing systems.

  • Manages outside contractors during specialized projects and during routine services regarding sterilization equipment and support systems.

  • Offers expertise in regards to continuous improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction efforts related to sterilization equipment processes, support systems, and functions Coordinate annual equipment requalification.

  • Assess spare part inventories to ensure adequate supply on-hand.

  • Perform calibration duties as required.

  • Participate on the sterilization Emergency Response Team.

  • Work overtime as needed by the department.

  • Work flexible hours as business needs require, including annual plant shutdowns.

  • Be on call to handle all after hours and weekend calls for repairs.

  • Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.

  • Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Skilled trade Certificate/Journeyman's License or 2-5 years of experience in related area
