The Senior Manager, Human Resources serves as the strategic HR leader for the global function, partnering closely with HR and Functional leadership to drive a high performance, highly engaged, and talent focused culture. This role provides both strategic guidance and hands on HR leadership, ensuring alignment with BD’s global HR strategy and business objectives. The Senior Manager HR works through OneHR model leveraging the Centers of Excellence to operate as a trusted advisor, change agent, and champion of BD’s values.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
Develop and execute short- and long-term HR strategies that advance business goals and align with BD’s global HR strategy.
Serve as a strategic partner to site leadership, providing insight, data, and counsel on talent, workforce planning, engagement, organizational effectiveness, and culture.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Partner with the RPO and Talent Acquisition COE to ensure recruitment efforts support business capability needs
Ensure robust talent pipelines and hiring of qualified, diverse candidates.
Oversee workforce planning activities to anticipate future needs and proactively address gaps.
Total Rewards & Performance Management
Lead compensation planning activities with leadership to ensure reward decisions support performance differentiation and drive desired organizational outcomes.
Drive and facilitate the annual performance management and development process, ensuring principles and process of pay - for -performance are met
Leadership Coaching & Capability Building
Act as a trusted HR business partner and coach to leaders, supporting effective people leadership, decision-making, and development of high-performing teams.
Coach managers in the effective use of Workday and HR processes to manage and optimize their workforce.
Lead succession planning, talent reviews, and development activities.
Serve as the site’s talent advisor and champion, ensuring strong, diverse successor pipelines for critical roles.
HR Effectiveness
Partner closely with the Associate Service Center (ASC) and AccessHR teams to understand ER trends, resolve escalated issues, and proactively address emerging concerns.
Support and guide business teams through organizational changes
Use HR metrics and analytics to identify trends, measure effectiveness of HR programs and provide data driven insights to business leaders
Other Responsibilities
Lead or participate in special projects, initiatives, and assignments as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
8+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership of HR business partnership activities required
Demonstrated capability in talent management, employee relations, engagement, and HR program execution required
Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices required
Proven ability to coach leaders, build trust, and influence at multiple organizational levels required
Preferred:
Master’s degree or HR certification (CHRP, SHRM-CP/SCP, etc.).
Experience working within a global matrixed organization.
Experience supporting manufacturing, operations, or high-volume environments

$148,923.08 - $238,276.92 USD Annual
