Job Description Summary

Manufacturing Supply Chain Excellence Leader is responsible for driving end to end operational excellence across planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory processes and systems at BioPharma Systems manufacturing plants across the globe. This role leads cross functional initiatives to improve service, cost, and cash balance while building sustainable, scalable, and standard processes. The leader acts as a key partner to Manufacturing Plant Supply Chain helping plants progress on their maturity journey to ensure process stability and continuous improvement across the network.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead end‑to‑end process assessments for manufacturing supply chain flows (planning → production → warehousing → shipment).
  • Identify improvement opportunities in areas such as material availability, production scheduling, changeover optimization, capacity planning, flow efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
  • Deliver measurable improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, RCA, DMAIC, Kaizen events, etc.
  • Develop standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across manufacturing sites.

2. Manufacturing–Supply Chain Integration

  • Strengthen alignment between planning, production, quality, engineering, and procurement teams.
  • Improve key processes such as:
    • MRP parameter accuracy
    • Material staging
    • Production order management
    • MES–ERP data integrity
    • Shop‑floor–planning synchronization

3. KPI Management & Performance Improvement

  • Define and track operational KPIs: OTIF, schedule adherence, cycle time, backorders, inventory turns, lead times, etc.
  • Implement tiered performance management systems and visual management tools.
  • Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for structural process gaps issues.

4. Digital Transformation & Automation

  • Partner with IT/Automation teams to deploy digital solutions such as:
    • Advanced planning systems
    • Real‑time dashboards
    • Predictive analytics
    • Workflow automation (Power Apps, etc.)
  • Lead adoption of data-driven decision-making in supply chain teams.

5. Project & Change Management

  • Manage relevant cross‑functional projects from scoping to execution and sustainment.
  • Apply structured change management to ensure adoption of new processes.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and capability‑building programs for plant and supply chain teams.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Plant Managers, Global Supply Chain Leaders, Quality Leaders, Engineering, and Finance to align priorities.
  • Act as the “bridge” between global supply chain process owners and local site operations.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes with executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or supply chain, with at least 3 years in process improvement roles.
  • Proven track record leading cross‑functional operational excellence or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in regulated environments (Pharma, Medical Devices, Automotive, Aerospace) preferred but not mandatory.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations (production, quality, maintenance) and supply chain processes (planning, procurement, logistics).
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to use data for decision-making.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and APS/MES platforms.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels.
