Job Description Summary

The Molding Manager is responsible for optimizing molding and assembly processes to reduce costs and improve labor efficiency. The Molding Manager must modernize the preventive maintenance plans, implement new technologies, and design tooling or machines to solve production problems. In addition, The Molding Manager supervise the assigned technical and engineering personnel and manage Tool Room initiatives to improve the manufacturing and molding processes.

Job Description

1.    Manages and coordinates the Molding Engineers and Technicians to ensure optimal planning of the molding areas and the Tool Shop.
2.    Assists in the planning of capital projects and develops implementation strategies.
3.    Manages and coordinates resources and workload of the mold and fixture shop for production.
4.    Strategically plans the service capacity to meet with the molding process requirements.
5.    Reviews and adjusts operational data such as cost and expense forecasts.
6.    Creates organizational charts.
7.    Designs, maintains, and improves the molds and the molded part processes.
8.    Applies quantitative models for capacity planning at various timescales.
9.    Manages the resource capacity to serve internal and external customers.
10.    Leads solutions for demand fluctuations.
11.    Plans the manufacturing and maintenance of critical molding area assets.
12.    Seeks continuous improvement in the molding processes.
13.    Designs tools, processes, and workstations.
14.    Implements methods or systems to improve efficiency.
15.    Conducts ergonomic and corrective assessments.
16.    Reinforces safety conditions in the workshop.
17.    Develops manufacturing processes (automation, etc.).
18.    Estimates investments for new processes.
19.    Leads Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
20.    Prepares budgets for equipment and processes during line transfers.
21.    Actively participates in asset management with the suppliers.
22.    Resolves situations that pose quality risks in production molding.
23.    Implements cost–saving projects.
24.    Performs activities assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Education and Experience  

 1.    Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
2.    Three years in Molding Manufacturing Operations.
Knowledge and Skills   

 1.    Scientific modeling and decoupling skills, strong computer skills such as Word processing, Spreadsheets, AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Office, Office Tools, and Visio.
2.    Strong communication skills.
3.    Dynamic, organized, with a sense of urgency.
4.    Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, competent, responsible, and able to work under pressure.
5.    Bilingual; English and Spanish, written and spoken. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English (preferably).
