About the role
The Lab Auto Informatics Specialist works in team with other BD stakeholders and is responsible for delivering product expertise for Network Configuration and Computer Infrastructure for the implementation of our Lab Auto solutions at customer site, troubleshooting for Middleware solutions, Information Systems Integration and roll out BD Remote Support tools.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Technical Implementation & Support
- Lead the deployment and configuration of BD Lab Automation Data Management Solutions, including LIS connectivity (ASTM, HL7) and customization for unique laboratory environments.
- Oversee IT infrastructure setup, server installations, and ensure secure, reliable network connections for System Control Units (SCU) and Gateways.
- Implement and manage Remote Support Services (RSS) and remote connectivity solutions for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Deploy and update software on BD Kiestra instruments, ensuring installations are accurate and efficient.
- Collaboration & Project Management
- Work closely with Project Managers, Solution Integrators, Field Service Engineers, Sales, Clinical Solutions, and informatics teams to complete comprehensive project plans and ensure seamless integration.
- Participate actively in internal and external progress meetings, supporting solution design and delivery.
- Technical Expertise
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, network design, virtualization, information security, SQL Server installations, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical expertise in connectivity, remote systems management, and web-based applications (IIS).
- Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Implement quality assurance processes, conduct regular audits, and ensure all installations and configurations meet required standards.
- Document all configurations, integrations, troubleshooting activities, and provide regular reports on project progress and issues.
- Customer Engagement & Feedback
- Act as a trusted advisor to microbiology laboratories, providing direct support and collecting feedback to drive product improvements.
- Ensure Field Corrective Actions are accurately implemented and communicate product improvement needs to marketing and global teams.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, connectivity, and field-based support (preferably in Flow Cytometry, Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, or BD medical devices).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within EMEA (up to 70%)
