Job Description Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior Director Global Network and Warehousing, the BD Global Warehousing Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the global warehousing operations, insourced or outsourced, ensuring efficient and effective storage, distribution, and inventory management across multiple locations. This role involves strategic planning, process and performance optimization, and leadership capabilities growth. The leader will align warehousing capabilities with broader supply chain and business goals to deliver exceptional service, cost efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities: Relevant for BD owned and 3PL warehouses

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement global warehousing strategies to optimize distribution and inventory management, transform organizational capabilities and processes towards best-in-class maturity.

  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and influence a team of warehouse managers and personnel across multiple locations in a matrix organization.

  • Performance Monitoring: Through efficient Tiered Management System, establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve warehouse performance. Define and implement analytical capabilities and enabling dashboards for best in class performance management including benchmark level and roadmap per DC to reach benchmark and excellence.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the warehousing budget, ensuring cost-effective operations in a matrix organization.

  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement best practices to improve warehouse operations, including robotics, automation and technology integration.

  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the warehousing operations, as well as coordinate with upstream and downstream activities, applying BD Excellence practices and strategies.

  • BD Excellence deployment:

    • Drive deployment of BD Excellence approach, process and practices to sustain improvement, shape culture and grow empowerment.

    • Build a warehouse center of excellence and community of practices driving global capability building and standardization. Ensure Benchmarking for best in class.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and customer service to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain operations. Support new product launches, network changes, and customer requirements through agile warehousing solutions.

  • Drive E2E improvement, warehousing being the central node, to improve cost, service through Lead Time and Cash through inventory

  • Compliance: Ensure all warehousing operations align with local and international regulations, including health and safety standards.

  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory levels and conduct regular audits to maintain inventory integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehousing and logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in global function and roles needing “management through influence”.

  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, proficiency in warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of global supply chain processes.

  • Attributes: Strategic thinker, operational excellence mentality, problem solver, and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
