Job Description Summary

Technical Specialist provide technical expertise to support manufacturing in leading machine enhancement, managing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of machines, project execution, accountability on production waste and quality of all machine tools operations and the overall technician resource management in production.

The primary role of Technical Associate is to execute and / or lead production output, machine enhancements, manage preventive maintenance effectively. This role also facilitates meetings with various Engineers or Subject Matter Experts to determine the root course of deviations to ensure successful manufacturing activities and observing Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality Systems.

Job Description

1. Operational Tasks

1.1. Operate machines to meet production output, and other metrics like quality, waste, etc.

1.2. Perform Preventive Maintenance (Cleaning, Service, Replace).

1.3. Perform troubleshooting of machine and tools, equipment failures to meet production targets, safety, and quality standards and/or specifications.

1.4. Perform product/machine changeover on the line and machine set-up.

1.5. Initiate, Implement and follow-up on machine enhancement and project assignments.

1.6. Write Standard Work Instruction / Procedure for assigned operation / process.

1.7. Implement Corrective and Preventives Actions.

1.8. Participate in training and coaching of Technicians and new hires on skills and knowledge on machine operations and adjustments.

1.9. Engage in OEE improvement / waste reduction projects.

2. Supporting Tasks

2.1. Contribute into departments activities that are needed in order to achieve goals set for the department e.g., Kaizen submission

2.2. Participate in the discussion and review of team's performance in the daily shift changeover meeting.

2.3. Participate in continuous improvement initiative / activities.

2.4. Perform any other tasks as assigned.

3. General Accountability

3.1. Observe BD Code of Ethics

3.2. Apply SOP and/or SWI in daily operations.

3.3. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) accountability, observing GMP rules and procedures.

3.4. Reporting up on all quality and non-quality related incidents / accidents, near misses, non-conformance with SOP or specifications, deviations from plan, and when required, to take part in further investigations.

3.5. Safety and ISO14001 Environmental accountability. Ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace by observing Company’s rules and procedures. Active involvement in prevention, elimination of potential safety hazards and participation in activities which promotes recycling, replacement, and reduction of resource materials.

3.6. Safety & health accountability: Safety and health are important to BD and we encourage the observance of all safety programs and training assigned to you. Such programs are to be attended in a timely manner to ensure that work tasks carried out are in accordance to our safety guidelines and SOPs.
