Job Summary
As a Process/Equipment Engineer at Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), you will be instrumental in optimizing and improving manufacturing processes equipment modernizations. You will utilize your expertise to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest quality standards, contributing directly to BD's mission of advancing the world of health.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment, or modify existing ones, to improve product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

  • Create Change Controls for equipment - new installations and improvements

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.

  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to transfer new products from development to production.

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.

  • Perform equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ) and process validations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO).

  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on process-related issues and new equipment operation.

  • Analyze process data and metrics to identify trends, predict potential issues, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ensure all processes adhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations.


Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial) or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.

  • 2-5 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, process control, and statistical analysis tools.

  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and CAD software.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools. Certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485).

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Work Environment:

  • BD is a smoke-free campus.  Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas.  We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy
  • False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals.  Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor. 
  • Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
