Software Application Intern (Strategic Initiatives)

Job Summary

The Strategic Initiatives Summer Intern will support the Strategic Initiatives team in executing internal projects focused on project analytics, process improvement, and solution development. This role provides hands-on experience contributing to business analysis, reporting, and digital enablement initiatives within a corporate environment.

The intern will work closely with project managers, developers, and business partners to assist with requirement documentation, data analysis, solution support, and deployment activities using Microsoft enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives and internal projects

  • Assist with gathering, documenting, and organizing business and functional requirements

  • Support the design, build, testing, and deployment of internal tools and solutions

  • Assist in developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and workflow automation

  • Perform basic data analysis and project analytics to support reporting and insights

  • Document processes, workflows, and solution designs

  • Support user testing activities and help track issues, feedback, and enhancements

  • Assist with preparing presentations, reports, and stakeholder communications

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and entering Junior or Senior year at the time of the internship

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field

  • Strong interest in analytics, project management, application development, or process improvement

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365 tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)

  • Experience with data visualization, reporting, or dashboards

  • Familiarity with basic project management or software development concepts

  • Experience documenting processes or creating presentations

Learning & Development Objectives

  • By the end of the internship, the intern will have developed a foundational understanding of internal project delivery and digital enablement by:

  • Gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle, from requirements through deployment

  • Applying analytical and problem-solving skills to support reporting and process improvement

  • Contributing to at least one active project through analysis, documentation, testing, or solution support

  • Demonstrating the ability to complete assigned tasks independently with guidance

  • Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders

  • Building familiarity with enterprise Microsoft tools and professional workplace practices

  • This position operates in a collaborative, on-site office environment and requires the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced setting.
