Hospitals handle thousands of medications daily, making medication management complex. Errors and inefficiencies in this process are unfortunately unavoidable. 

About the role 

As a Product Owner, you will define scope and backlog items (epics, features, user stories) that guide our agile software development teams. Acting as the key liaison between partners and the development team, you will ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will work in international, multi-functional, and highly motivated Scrum teams to turn vision into reality.


Your responsibilities will include

  • Partnering with collaborators from key functions such as business, marketing, and clinical to analyze needs and align product roadmaps and backlogs with strategic goals.

  • Supporting in the creation of clear, detailed backlog items and specifications for product features to ensure shared understanding within the team.

  • Collaborating daily with developers and testers based in and around Vienna.

  • Participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to keep the team passionate about delivering high-quality increments.

  • Engaging with globally distributed collaborators, primarily in Ireland and in the United States to ensure alignment and timely communication.

Must-haves

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field - or equivalent work experience.

  • Professional experience as a Scrum Product Owner, Requirements Engineer, Software System Engineer, or a comparable position within an agile framework.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and influence across technical and non-technical collaborators.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across fields and quickly understand new, complex domains.

  • Proficient in English.

  • Analytical approach and attention to detail.

  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure, with a focus on delivering outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare, ideally medical device software, and familiarity with regulatory standards.

  • Professional Scrum Product Owner credential and/or Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering credential.

  • Experience working across multiple time zones, especially with US-based collaborators.

The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is € 3.175,00 (full-time basis; 38.5 h) (monthly full-time basis, based on ST1/Einstiegsstufe 2025 IT KV). Depending on individual skills and experience, we offer appropriate additional payment.
