Job Description Summary
Responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and certifications (Annex 24, VAT-IEPS, OEA, CTPAT). Works closely with the Logistics and Customs Compliance Manager. Must follow BD’s quality and safety standards. Regular and punctual attendance required.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains control of Annex 24, inventory reconciliation, data stage review, and maintenance of the customs system.
- Responsible for maintaining and renewing the VAT Certification, OEA and CTPAT certifications and any others that may be required.
- Ensures that the OEA, CTPAT and VAT certifications certifications are met.
- Responsible for the maintenance of Annex 30.
- Generates monthly reports for analysis of the importation and exportation.
- Responsible for the request and control permits, authorizations from the government agencies.
- Recognize customs risks by monitoring customs compliance practices according to company policies and investigating root causes of the problem and eliminate the risk
- Review regulatory changes and notify those that may impact BD operations.
- Maintain legal oversight by submitting complete documents to customs authorities on time to ensure their export and import.
- Knowledge of general tariff classification
- Conduct internal training sessions when required, providing appropriate training in the customs legal matrix to improve customs compliance and the industrial competence of staff.
- Take leadership role in driving change management for the engineering and maintenance department related to people, structure, technology enhancement, regulatory and company initiatives on productivity.
- Effectively communicate to management any critical actions needed to restore and maintain the basic conditions of the equipment to 100% reliability working side by side with Reliability Team.
- Ensures harmonization of processes, promotes, and enforces technical standards maintaining up-to-date knowledge and awareness of improvement methodologies and new techniques in maintenance.
- Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade or related field
- 8 years of experience in customs compliance area
- Knowledge of customs laws, foreign trade regulations and rules, as well as free trade agreements, the IMMEX Decree, and Secretaria de Salud, COFEPRIS, Semarnat, and TIGIE, among others.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.
