Job Overview

This position is primarily responsible for the management of Infusion Disposable contract activities including managing two Contracts Consultants, sales proposals, exception approvals, contract development, and development of legal language for addendums and amendments of contracts, review of documentation and detailed execution of customer contracts. Work independently with Commercial Integration, Marketing, Legal, Finance and Sales to develop and implement special programs. Work directly with Marketing, Finance and Health Systems to maintain products and pricing on GPO contracts. 

This position will require being on-site 4 days per week in our San Diego, CA office and working remotely Friday. 

Responsibilities

•    Manage and develop a team of two Contracts Consultants
•    Oversee Infusion Disposables sales proposals and contracts for healthcare facilities including Hospitals, Regional Networks (e.g., IDN), Non-Acute facilities, etc.
•    Collaborate with the BD Proposal Development Team to create responses to RFIs and RFPs
•    Develop an in-depth knowledge and expertise in the products, pricing, rebates, charge-backs and terms and conditions of all Disposables contracts and GPO contracts. 
•    Perform detailed audits on all sales proposals prior to contract development and ensure all required approvals or approval processes have been completed and all proposal details are clearly and accurately documented. 
•    Coordinate administration of customer contract terms and conditions across multiple areas to maximize contract value.
•    Manage Infusion sales contracts lifecycle including provision of lead information (from internal data), agreement generation, drafting/redlining, negotiation, execution, amendment, extension, and retirement.
•    Support, administer, and carry out policies, procedures, and processes to harmonize contract negotiation and general provisions, with appropriate flexibility to meet customer/market needs and dynamics. Ensure that risk is mitigated, and regulations are appropriately addressed consistently across all business offerings. 
•    Drive a defined contract review/approval workflow process to ensure operational efficiencies and standardization; liaison with business or legal as needed.
•    Assist with development of legal language for contracts, addendums and amendments. 
•    Interface directly with the Strategic Account Managers, National Account Managers, and Sales Management to review proposals. Develop options and alternatives for proposals with the sales representatives. 
•    Identify and support process improvement projects (templates, standard terms, system updates, etc.) to drive operational efficiencies and standardization throughout the organization. 
•    Ensure technology platform (iCertis, SalesForce, PowerBI, SAP, etc.) functionality and performance supports contract offer activities and workflow management.

Education 

•    Minimum bachelor’s degree preferred plus a minimum of 2 years demonstrated applicable experience including a strong understanding of business strategy, pricing and profitability  
•    In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of contract experience will be considered

Experience 
•    Demonstrated customer relationship skills with the ability to uphold consistent expectations, negotiate and adapt to customer needs while maintaining protection of BD’s interests.

•    Advanced Excel (pivot tables, Xlookup) experience required
•    General understanding of US Antitrust laws, HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, revenue recognition guidance, Internal Audit, regulatory controls, and business strategy preferred 
•    Contract Lifecycle Management tools and the ability to learn SAP, QlikView, Power BI, and Salesforce preferred
•    Ability to understand contract management, including contract strategy development, negotiations with medical products and services preferred. 
•    Analytical problem solver with strong ethical values and discernment with the ability to evaluate key business drivers and develop clear recommendations. 
•    Proven track record in quickly establishing credibility, trust, and support. 
•    Knowledge of post-signature capital contract processes, including installation, billing/revenue management and maintenance of equipment and how each of those processes are affected by pre-signature contract negotiations preferred
•    Ability to partner with sales and general management to develop complex contract offerings that define the business value of solutions in a clear, understandable way. 
•    Ability to communicate at executive levels, internally and externally, handle complexity and make independent recommendations.
