Field Inventory Coordinator (FIC)

Job Description Summary

BD Interventional (BDI) focus on leading innovation and life-enhancing devices in the field of surgical, endovascular, urological and critical care interventions aiming at advancing the treatment of high burden diseases and enabling surgical and interventional procedures.

Peripheral Intervention
Our Peripheral Intervention (PI) business unit offers a comprehensive range of medical products, devices and services for the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease, cancer detection, and end-stage renal disease and maintenance.

The Field Inventory Coordinator (FIC) serves as the primary contact for the sales associates assigned territories and districts across the US. The FIC is responsible for managing Consignment and Trunk Stock Physicals, including scheduling/receiving completed physical scans, resolving variances and tracing back the origin of assigned items with the sales team. The FIC reports to the Field Inventory Lead.

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Coordinate, assist, and review assigned physical inventory with sales team to ensure accurate field inventory levels.

  • Collect, review, and file all pertinent documentation needed to complete the physical inventory process.

  • Perform various transactions to adjust inventory levels, bill out sales orders, and facilitate replacement units.

  • Interact directly with the sales force to maintain accurate field inventory levels.

  • Work cross functionally with other departments to assist in meeting division’s field inventory goals, including Customer Service, Capital services and Contracts.

  • Assist the sales team with troubleshooting field inventory technology. 

  • Data entry & tracking for field inventory returns, shipments and physicals.

  • Complete other projects/responsibilities as assigned across our Field Inventory division.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration

  • Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity

Basic Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proactive, driven, and thrives on challenges.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Basic knowledge of Excel spreadsheet, word processing, and database software in a Windows environment.

Education Required:

  • Some college or equivalent preferred.

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of business operations or business processes.
