It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
Job Description
At BD, possibility isn’t an idea. It’s what we do. We are the Makers of Possible.
AsSenior Supply Chain Business Partner, you’ll lead a team of demand planners and inventory coordinators while working closely with commercial and operational stakeholders to balance supply and demand across a defined portfolio.
Based in Sydney and reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, this is a highly visible role where you’ll combine people leadership, planning expertise and strong stakeholder management to deliver reliable supply outcomes and drive performance across the business.
You’ll play a key role in leading S&OP processes, improving forecast accuracy and ensuring inventory is optimised to meet customer demand across Australia and New Zealand.
Your Day‑to‑Day
You will lead both the team and planning processes, ensuring supply chain outcomes are delivered effectively.
You will:
Lead and develop a team of planners and coordinators, driving performance, accountability and capability uplift
Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to align demand forecasts with business activity
Lead monthly demand consensus and S&OP meetings, managing variances, risks and opportunities
Analyse demand trends and drivers to improve forecast accuracy and planning outcomes
Work closely with regional supply teams and global stakeholders to ensure alignment on supply plans
Monitor inventory levels, safety stock and forward coverage to ensure optimal performance
Manage backorders and communicate impacts clearly across Customer Service and Sales teams
Optimise inventory, including managing excess and obsolete stock and improvement plans
Provide regular reporting on key supply chain metrics (forecast accuracy, DIO, OTIF, backorders)
Collaborate across logistics, distribution and customer service to ensure execution of plans
This is a role where you’ll be expected to lead from the front - both in how the team operates and how you engage stakeholders.
About You
You’re a confident leader who knows how to get the best out of your team while also building strong relationships across the business.
You’ll bring:
Proven experience in supply chain planning (demand and/or supply planning)
Previous people leadership experience, ideally within planning
Strong experience leading or participating in S&OP processes
High levels of data analysis capability and ability to interpret planning metrics
Confidence partnering with and influencing stakeholders across commercial and operational teams
