Scope of Work:

End to end supply chain responsibility starting with the procurement of raw materials and maintaining appropriate inventory levels, creating a detailed production schedule for those assigned product families and ensuring finished good products are delivered to internal and external customers (Distribution Centers, OEMs, etc.) in compliance with defined goals for Quality, Service and Financial commitments.

Purchasing responsibilities:

  • Analyze product demand/supply signals to effectively translate trends into materials requirements planning while identifying potential materials continuity risks based on supplier capacity/capabilities.

  • Place purchase orders (PO’s) for direct/indirect materials according to net production requirements (sales & safety stocks) and considering total supply chain lead-time (supplier, in-transit, receiving & incoming inspection). Goods and services must be purchased at the lowest total landed cost and strictly following local/corporate policies.

  • Ensure that the ERP system is continuously updated to latest historical data and trends to effective support production requirements (Master Data Maintenance)

  • Ensures that contractual obligations with suppliers are strictly followed by providing monthly materials rolling forecasts, purchase orders that match frozen/binding periods and payment terms along with any other legally binding tasks/activities.

  • Conduct monthly materials requirements reviews with Bard’s supplier base to ensure an appropriate source of goods is received on time to support manufacturing operations.

  • Responsible for supporting internal/external quality audits and to lead Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA’s) related to compliance gaps in the purchasing and planning areas

  • Responsible for the change management process (CR’s) for different non-technical supplier related events including but not limited to supplier name changes, facilities relocations (address changes), etc.

  • Follow-through and confirm that all purchased and received materials are released from Incoming inspection and available for production use on time to meet production plan

Production Scheduling:

  • Work very closely with the business unit Master Production Scheduler to operationalize the monthly supply plan and site financial BVR

  • Responsible to maintain/update ERP planning parameters such as lot size, daily production rate (capacity), product lead-times etc. Changes will be managed using BARD’s MDM process and/or BPR process. Create and execute a daily detailed production schedule with specific sequencing of work orders to maximize equipment utilization (uptime) and meet service metrics (on time delivery/backorder).

  •  Discuss the daily schedule with the manufacturing manager and/or supervisor to reach agreement before its deployment to the floor.

  • Track the execution of the production schedule daily.  

  • Daily interaction with different cross functional teams and management to resolve issues regarding materials availability, production scheduling conflicts, service priorities and or manufacturing execution gaps. Provide additional information as requested by external customers such as: Divisions & Regions

  • Responsible to lead the weekly PvA meetings and provide CPvA projections to the management team and the BOC

  • Maintain and report daily service metrics and participate in BET’s and GEMBA walks.

  • Responsible of IDA’s, RMR’s and RTV’s related to assigned product lines.

  • Completes the work order and follows-through and confirms that all Finish Goods are delivered to the end customer.

Inventory Management

  • Responsible for the value stream inventory levels including Raw Materials, Sub-Assemblies, Work in Process and Finished Goods @ plant level.

  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Should be in the final year of their undergraduate studies, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field such as Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or a closely related discipline.

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry is preferred, particularly in areas such as Supply Chain Planning or Procurement.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) and MRP (JD Edwards)

Work Environment:

  • Hours of operation are flexible and vary depending on job requirements. Typical work week is 40 hours with additional/variable hours for specific work periods and projects. Specific workdays and hours are flexible and may change with advance notice

  • The nature of the work requires occasional exposure to chemicals, noise. Occasional exposure to machinery and non-ionizing radiation.
