This position is a key partner in our journey to BD Excellence, acting as reference and advisor to the WW President of APM and will support the APM Leadership Team in managing the Continuous Improvement process, with emphasis on visual management, problem solving and kaizen and will assist in deploying of strategic plans, ensuring alignment through cascading Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) top-down and bottom-up.  This position is responsible for delivering and coaching BD Excellence across the global APM organization.


Reporting to the VP, Strategic Transformation & PMO, this position focuses on four main areas: 
1)Driving adoption and execution of BD Excellence (Lean Principles) for the global APM organization with primary focus on commercial, innovation and manufacturing tools.
2) Managing continuous improvement processes, with emphasis on kaizen facilitation, tool training, and certification programs, with a focus on visual management, problem solving, and transactional process improvement  
3) Working with APM leadership and the BD Excellence Office, to develop applicable frameworks and training programs to drive the adoption and sustainment of BD Excellence across the global APM organization. 
4) Managing BD Excellence education to grow capabilities, acumen and adoption across the global APM organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

BD Excellence Strategy Development and Deployment:

  • Serve as a thought partner to APM leaders, supporting the adoption and deployment of BD Excellence tools and mindset across departments and regions.

  • Own the deployment of BD Excellence tools through Commercial, Innovation and Manufacturing/Operations.

  • Support the monthly APM Business Operations review format and execution in collaboration with the President.

  • Partner with the BD Excellence Office to develop tools and training to expand APM’s continuous improvement adoption and execution.

  • Drive BD Excellence education by providing broad coaching and training as well as eventually rolling out a certified practitioner program.

  • Use bowlers, key performance indicators, and action plans to drive prioritization and rigor based on clear metrics.

  • Support APM Leadership in driving key initiatives through BD Excellence, including revenue growth, operational profit, control & compliance, employee experience or client experience.

  • Develop and facilitate continuous improvement (Kaizen) events to achieve and sustain improvement results. 

  • In close alignment with the BD Excellence office, support the deployment of BD Excellence tools and standard methodologies to drive results and deliver increased process effectiveness.

  • Cascade the BD Excellence tools, utilizing digital training tools, certification programs, and an apprenticeship mindset to embed BD Excellence into BD’s culture.

  • Utilize best-in-class tools (Daily Visual Management, Problem Solving, Transactional Process Improvement) to drive results.

  • Explore external market capabilities and technologies to support BDX continuous improvement, promoting innovation across the APM organization and acting as a change agent for strategic technological shifts.

Leading Change through BD Excellence initiatives:

  • Drive BD Excellence programs and initiatives to achieve long-term continuous improvement objectives.

  • Be a change champion in the deployment of BD Excellence in the APM organization and in the tools and mindset across the APM organization.

  • Challenge existing paradigms, encourage and promote internal and external best practice.

  • Drive collaboration to accept new ideas and achieve sustainable business improvements.

  • Lead digitalization and innovation efforts at organization level to improve business and operational excellence and customer experience.

Cultivate BD Excellence Culture and Capability Development:

  • Develop and grow capability through the APM organization to establish the fundamentals of excellence, in close collaboration with the BD Excellence office.

  • Equip the APM Leadership Team with BD Excellence concepts and knowledge, focusing on external and internal benchmarking.

  • Drive culture of continuous improvement by encouraging associates to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements. Foster an environment where associates feel valued and empowered to give feedback and make change.

  • Use methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, to structure these efforts

  • Design and implement programs or initiatives to raise awareness, adopt CI methodologies, and enhance capabilities of BD Excellence.

Education and Experience:

  • 10+ or 15+ years of business experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, or a related field, required

  • MBA a plus

  • Certified practitioner in lean tools

  • Systemic improvement: Significant career experience in an organization where a business system is part of the culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, and kaizen are embedded in all aspects of the business

  • Commercial and Innovation Acumen: Experience working across commercial, innovation, and manufacturing functions to drive performance.

  • Training and Development: Experience designing and delivering education programs to build organizational capability.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to lead business transformation initiatives and drive cross Regularfunctional alignment.

Operational Excellence Expertise: Deep understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and visual management tools.

Change Management: Strong capability in leading organizational change and building adoption of new frameworks and tools.

Collaboration and Influence: Ability to work effectively across global teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Analytical Thinking: Skilled in evaluating complex systems and identifying opportunities for efficiency and impact.

Technology Enablement: Familiarity with leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance operational effectiveness.
