Responsibilities:
- Attain sales goals and grow BD presence in your designated Area.
- Position yourself as a product specialist, educating Plastic Surgeons on our innovative products and solutions
- Ensure effective utilization of our products by trained surgeons in your Area
- Develop new customers, establish and maintain lasting customer relationships
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Detailed understanding of the needs/analysis approach to sales
- Ability to discuss our products in relation to human anatomy
- Strong understanding of medical and surgical terminology
- High clinical acumen: Confidence and experience in the Operating Room
- Ability to travel within the defined geographic area greater than 60% of the time, to include overnights
- Cross functional collaboration and coaching among Territory Managers in adjacent divisions to attain common revenue goals within Area of purview.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Plastic, Reconstructive and Micro Surgeons, hospital staff and procurement teams.
- Conduct product demonstrations, in-servicing and training for clinical staff.
- Identify new business opportunities and execute strategic plans to expand market share.
- Attend on-label surgical procedures to provide technical support and ensure proper product usage.
- Collaborate with marketing, customer service and medical affairs teams to meet customer needs and ensure product availability.
- Responsible for providing timely feedback on customer requirements and issues affecting the Plastic & Reconstructive market.
- Responsible to provide frequent and timely verbal and written feedback on performance related to business objectives, and documenting sales metrics routinely in Salesforce.com
- Responsible for monitoring progress of each territory within respective Area, to successfully achieve and exceed common, annual sales goals.
- Manage individual Budget
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the BD Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
- Reports customer complaints in accordance with BD’s complaint procedures.
- Conduct business with integrity and in accordance with BD’s Code of Ethics, BD Way, and all applicable policies, rules, and procedures.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA degree Business, Life Sciences, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the sale of medical products.
- Minimum of 2 years of field territory experience in the Plastic/Reconstructive/Micro-Surgery specialty.
- Documented history of meeting or exceeding sales target.
- Familiarity with microsurgical instruments, implants, or biologics.
- Existing relationships with key opinion leaders in the surgical space.
- Must possess and maintain a criminal background satisfactory to BD. Criminal backgrounds may be monitored on an annual basis or as needed.
- Must be able to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings with a satisfactory result in accordance with the requirements of the customer/medical facility serviced.
- Maintain vendor credentialing.
- Travel as needed for the role.
