Job Description Summary
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join the Italian accounting operations of a complex multinational affiliate of a U.S.-based company. In this role, you will ensure compliance with both US GAAP and Italian GAAP, manage indirect and direct tax filings, and supervise a team of two. You will report directly to the Finance Manager and work within a dynamic finance team of 5 professionals.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership: Manage and supervise general accounting activities under both US GAAP and Italian GAAP.
Financial Reporting: Prepare statutory financial statements and ensure timely monthly closings for US GAAP reporting packages.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and validate periodic and annual tax returns (Income Tax, VAT, Intrastat, Esterometro) and ensure full compliance with Italian tax and fiscal regulations.
Controls & Compliance: Perform account reconciliations, implement accounting controls, and ensure adherence to internal policies and deadlines.
Third-Party Management: Oversee accounting for third-party sales agents.
Team Development: Coordinate team activities and support individual growth and development.
About You
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience in Italy within a U.S. multinational environment.
At least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of Italian and U.S. accounting principles and standards.
Strong understanding of Italian tax regulations, VAT requirements, and fiscal reporting.
Experience with payroll administration and labor law compliance.
Systems: Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, MS Business Central, and Microsoft Office tools.
Languages: Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
