Group Leader
Job Function
Assist the Production Supervisor in the daily production schedules and related activities for assigned production area, to achieve production plan and track hourly output in comparison to established expected result, including line clearance activities and required documentation from start up to work order closure.
Execute daily transactions in JDE and manually including investigating and reconciling system errors to maintain production flow (e.g., units produced, inventory verification, work order printing and closing, issuing materials verification)
Oversee and assess work of up to 15 Assemblers in one production cell - which may include visual inspection, and sequential review - providing coaching and feedback to ensure work is in compliance with work instructions and SOPs and Assemblers are fully trained to perform assigned tasks.
Replace Assemblers on the line to cover relief breaks, using tools and equipment, ensure daily production activities are in accordance with established cycle times and resolve escalated work for production cell, using technical resources.
On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and
working a full 8 hour or longer work period
Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or equivalent with 6 Years of previous experience in manufacturing process, including experience leading teams, coaching others, and transferring knowledge.
Technical Diploma with 4 years of previous experience in manufacturing process, including experience leading teams, coaching others, and transferring knowledge.
Required Skills
• Full understanding of and proficient in manufacturing procedures and operations sequencing
• Proficient in computer skills related to using manufacturing software
• Ability to perform production and process control activities
• Ability to guide other workers/colleagues in understanding operations and quality standards
• Strong English language skills, including reading, comprehending, speaking and writing.
• Knowledge of and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing
• Proven ability to complete, retain, and incorporate training coursework in the performance of new and advanced work procedures
• Flexibility to work overtime and varying shifts
• Must be able to work in an inter-departmental team environment and other departments, with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions.
