Job Description Summary
The incumbent provide management for electrical engineering to improve equipment, processes, and driving cost effectiveness in projects. This is to support transformation initiatives and capacity expansion for manufacturing operations. The incumbent will also develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. The Automation Engineer will also guide the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on equipment, software and processes. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between plants.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Automation, Controls & Digitalization
Lead end‑to‑end automation projects (E2E) from concept, design, programming, installation, commissioning, and validation.
Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize OT systems such as PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMIs, industrial PCs, and edge computing devices. (minimum 3 years’ experience with Omron and/or Allen Bradley).
Integrate robotics, control systems, sensors, and industrial networks into manufacturing processes.
Support the team with IoT technology integration, enhancing connectivity, data visibility, and automation performance.
Manage and monitor industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, OPC UA).
Participate in humanoid robotics or advanced automation projects, offering exposure to next‑generation manufacturing systems.
OT Cybersecurity
Implement and enforce OT cybersecurity policies aligned with frameworks like ISA/IEC 62443.
Perform vulnerability assessments, patch planning, whitelisting, and endpoint hardening.
Maintain OT asset inventory, configuration records, and change management documentation.
Support audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the OT domain.
Equipment & Process Engineering
Provide engineering leadership in equipment acquisition, qualification, and lifecycle support.
Support process development work for critical equipment and ensure smooth manufacturing integration.
Coordinate design and build activities for prototype equipment to support pilot and scale‑up production.
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as test procedures, validation protocols, work instructions, and technical reports.
Project Management & Continuous Improvement
Manage automation and engineering projects aligned with site priorities and strategic initiatives.
Ensure timely execution of deliverables, resource planning, budget control, and stakeholder communication.
Conduct DOE, MSA, and process characterization activities using Six Sigma methodologies.
Lead process validation and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Quality, Compliance & New Product Introduction
Contribute to Process FMEA and provide technical input for Design for Automated Assembly (DFAA) during product development.
Support technical reviews with corporate engineering and cross‑functional teams.
Safety & Environment
Ensure compliance with EHS and ISO14001 guidelines and participate actively in safety programs.
Promote safe work practices, hazard prevention, and resource efficiency initiatives.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 3 years of PLC experience with Omron and/or Allen Bradley.
Experience in managing and troubleshooting industrial networks and fieldbus systems.
Experience with automation systems, robotics, system commissioning or machine integration is highly advantageous.
Exposure to cybersecurity practices within OT environments.
Experience in regulated industries (semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, chemicals, utilities, or advanced manufacturing) is advantageous.

Familiarity with IoT platforms, industrial communication protocols, SCADA, or automation networking is highly desirable.
Hands‑on experience with equipment qualification, software validation, and process validation.
