Responsibilities

Job Description Summary

As part of our Specimen Management team, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining long-term partnerships with laboratory customers across Finland. Your focus will be to grow the product portfolio by identifying new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with existing clients in chemistry and microbiology laboratories, primarily within the public healthcare sector.
This position requires approximately 90–120 travel days annually for customer visits, conferences, and internal or external meetings. Occasional overnight stays may be necessary, depending on your location and preferences. We welcome applicants from across Finland (with Helsinki preferred), provided you’re well-positioned and enthusiastic about travel.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers across laboratory environments.
  • Drive sales growth by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities.
  • Manage and expand existing customer accounts, ensuring an excellent experience and timely delivery of BD solutions.
  • Take ownership of tender activities and proactively contribute to the bidding process.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the sales pipeline and market trends to plan and execute territory strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to promote the full BD portfolio within Finland.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customer enquiries and provide tailored support.
  • Represent BD at relevant meetings, events, and exhibitions.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical or a related scientific field.
  • Experience in sales within laboratory automation, microbiology, chemistry, or medical devices is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working in a clinical or research laboratory environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Finnish procurement and tender processes is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in Finnish and English, with the ability to build trust and influence effectively.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Availability to travel and valid driver's license.
