Job Description Summary

As the Supply Base Compliance Team Lead, you will be a member of an organization of dedicated individuals helping to drive BD’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and working to identify and reduce the environmental impact of our portfolio and address the sustainability needs of our customers. You will be empowered to build and maintain processes to support our design centers, business units, and customers by collecting material composition, chemical content and regulatory information from BD suppliers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise team of Supply Base Compliance (SBC) Specialists including
  • Ensuring compliance to training and process flows 
  • Support associate growth and development with effective goal setting and critical metric management.
  • Responsible for the overall Materials of Concern (MOC), Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Conflict Minerals (CM) data collection process including issuing enquiries to BD suppliers and ensuring satisfactory responses are received including Full Material Disclosure and supplier declarations; 
  • Carry out initial analysis of supplier responses and conduct risk assessment based on likelihood of presence of MOC/RoHS/CM and basic chemical data checks; 
  • Liaise and support Product Stewardship Program Leaders, functional, business unit, and regional teams (e.g. procurement, responsible sourcing, R&D, commercial functions) to collect and assess compliance data for further assessment and/or action and follow up accordingly; 
  • Ensure  BD MOC/RoHS/CM master data integrity as part of team accountability 
  • Identify and raise potential master data issues accordingly to data owners. 
  • Capture, assess and respond to customer related customer enquiries via the Product Stewardship Service Now process and leveraging data linked to BD Bill of Materials.
  • Provide support, guidance, and training to suppliers, BD associates and partners on MOC and CM data collection. 
  • Support the development and enhancement of the MOC Data Collection Tool. 
  • Maintain MOC process documentation and training materials with appropriate revision control.
  • Develop and maintain Dashboards and reports to support organizational KPIs

Your Experience:

  • Proficient command of English language required (written and spoken)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Problem solving and team-player skills,
  • Good analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data to drive decisions and outcomes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook),
  • SAP or equivalent ERP working knowledge
  • University degree level required (minimum Bachelor degree); in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Sustainability, Business, or a related discipline
  • Experience with regulations and standards within a multinational company
  • Proven organization, leadership and management skills; 
  • Experience managing projects and managing to goals
