PositionSummary:
This positionis responsible forgeneral set up, operation, optimization,changeover/troubleshootandmaintainassigned department equipment. Responsible for meeting/exceeding production standards,maintainingproduct quality,minimizing/preventingequipmentdowntimeand sustaining budgeted waste levels every day.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Works with management toidentifyandeliminatesafety hazards.
Has detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to the point that the Associate canoperatewithin specified quality/quantity limits.
Set up,operateand trouble shoot equipment.
Maintain equipment to produceproductto meet BD’s Quality Standards.
Repair equipment withinAssociate’scapability and followdepartmentescalation plan.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program.
Responsible for recording preventative maintenance, planned and breakdown activities in SAP.
Must have mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools, propertroubleshootingand set up procedures.
Assistwith radiation emergencies when and if they occur.
Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Work with limited supervision and perform duties in a prompt and professional manner.
Attend training and meetings asrequired.
General housekeeping andclean upof work area / safety awareness.
Sustain a productive work environment through effective communication with team members.
Obey all company policies,standardsand rules, including but not limited to: Safety policies and rules (including lockout procedures); Quality policies and rules
Mustmaintainregular, punctual attendance.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent,required
Vocational/technical school, preferred.
Manufacturing experience,preferred.
Experience:
Manufacturing experience preferred but notrequired
Forklift – Must be able to obtain License within 3 months
Yard Truck Operation – Must be able tooperatewithin a 3-month period.
Must have a valid driver’s license
Radiation certification – Must be able toacquirein 12 months
This job is contingent on clearing an FBI background check. You willbe requiredto provide fingerprints to be sent to the FBI. The corporate security officer willdetermineif the background information will be acceptable for this position.
Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities:
Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic,electricaland pneumatic systems.
Must be able to speak,readand write English
Good interpersonal skills
Computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word preferred) - Basic
Physical Demands:
PCP Level 3: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
Work Environment (if applicable):
High speed manufacturing environment. Must remain alert and focused.
No air-conditioning in parts ofsterilization/warehousearea.
Radiationinclose proximity.
May have intermittent exposure to chemicals;
Degree of exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise,vibrationand chemicals.
When working outside, any & all physical elements of weather & temperature may be present. Inside, noise is the major distraction.
Safety glasses must be worn when in the warehouse
Some physical exertion, including lifting, may berequired.
Safety toe shoesrequired
