Responsibilities
1. Works with engineering and operations teams to identify controlled documents and SAP master data objects (material masters, bills of materials, task lists, etc.) that will be impacted by proposed changes.
2. Works with engineering change requesters to determine change implementation (ECO) strategies.
3. Acts as change coordinator in BD’s SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
4. Verifies that appropriate individuals are assigned to tasks in the ECR/O process; adjusts task assignments in coordination with change requesters and functional leaders; maintains related reviewer / approval matrices.
5. Ensures that change packages are complete for release / implementation, i.e. all necessary supporting documents and data objects are in place and all affected controlled documents and master data objects have been reviewed and approved for adequacy by appropriate individuals; releases controlled documents and master data objects for use.
6. Interfaces with change coordinators in global product platforms and other BD manufacturing plants to ensure complete, consistent, and timely implementation of changes.
7. Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
8. Other duties as assigned, such as, but not limited to: management of deviation records, periodic review of documents, maintenance & audit of control points, and issuance of Supplier Approval Letters (SAL) and Supplier Notification Letters (SNL).
Education and Experience:
1. BA/BS degree in business, information systems, engineering or related discipline is preferred.
2. Two to three years’ experience in the following:
ISO / FDA regulated environments, preferably medical device industry, with exposure to document
and data control processes like engineering change control is required.
Utilizing electronic change control tools is required, preferably SAP.
Master data management in global business systems, preferably SAP.
3. Bilingual (Spanish & English).
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Knowledge of FDA/ISO regulations related to document and data control.
2. Knowledge of SAP change management and master data concepts:
General SAP use.
SAP master data objects (material master, bill of material, task lists, etc.) and their relationships
SAP engineering change management.
SAP Business Intelligence or Business Warehouse.
3. Solid PC skills in MS Office and other reporting and productivity tools.
4. Attention to detail, careful, deliberate, disciplined, meticulous.
5. Effective organizational and planning skills.
6. Analytical skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
7. Proactive skill set to prevent data integration issues from occurring as well as action-oriented in bringing resolution to known data integration issues.
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
