As a global leader in this space, BD supports healthcare providers by improvingdiagnostic accuracy,sample quality,patient experience, andsafety, while also helping reduce the total cost of ownership.
About the role
The Business Manager SM leads the Specimen Management business across Benelux, driving profitable growth through strategic leadership and sales execution.
They shape and implement commercialization strategies aligned with country business goals.
This role manages and develops the Nordics sales team, enhancing sales capabilities and commercial excellence.
As part of the Nordics BDX leadership, they influence local initiatives and decision-making.
Key focus areas include Go-to-Market models, Value-Based Selling, and stakeholder engagement.
Main responsibilities will include:
Commercial operations
- Contributes to the Country & Hub SM Strategy.
- Leads the commercialization strategy, in line with the Country and EMEA strategy.
- Drives the regional targets achievement focusing on the pre-defined growth drivers and opportunities managed by their sales team.
- Is accountable for the successful implementation of the local annual business plan circa $40m.
- Drives and leads the business to achieve and go above and beyond.
- Makes sure the needed input is clear to update forecasts on time and accurately.
- Define sales KPIs. Ensures right business analytics are in place and supervised on time and accurately.
- Drive Sales efficiency
- Management of the Benelux SM P&L: Monitors and manages Selling expenses, delivers efficient product mix to achieve annual revenue and profitability objectives.
People management
- Provides leadership and coaches own organization with special focus on:
- Leads the team of 6 Account Managers and Solutions Experts with a growth mindset to deliver results; ensures aligned sales standards, drives commercial excellence, is a change management leader
- Recruiting, retaining, and developing dedicated team members
- Constantly reviewing & upgrading knowledge, skills, and engagement levels of the team.
- Ensuring adequate and timely compliance with critical HR processes (PMP, HRP, etc…) and local legislation.
- Optimizing the country structure and talent pool.
- Building the organization bench strength and creating organization flow.
- Constantly seeking to improve personal skills and knowledge.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration with BD
- Partners and effectively collaborates with a BD functional stakeholders e.g. finance, customer care, supply chain to deliver shared business objectives and an excellent customer experience
- Contributes to and supports BDX Benelux leadership team and SM North West Europe leadership team objectives
- Partners with NW Cluster and EMEA Regional Marketing teams to execute Omnichannel Marketing Campaigns including field force lead generation and management activities.
Customer relationship
- Develops appropriate understanding of local customer needs through ongoing interaction with key accounts and key customers
- Establishes relationship with key stakeholders such as KOL’s, trade associations, and professionals in new markets.
- Represents the company at the C-Suite level conversations.
- Identifies and develops new local business opportunities to accelerate and sustain ongoing sales growth
- Participates in local trade associations and relevant public policy initiatives to advance BD Specimen Management short,mid and long term objectives.
About you
- Significant commercial experience and/or knowledge of Medical Device or Diagnostics in the acute care and laboratory environment.
- Eye for business and organizational awareness
- Established track record to successfully lead sales organizations and drive commercial excellence
- In-depth-knowledge of local market
- Analytical thinking and ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
- Ability to deal with high C-suite and other high-level HC Stakeholders
- Proficient in spoken and written English, Dutch and French
- Natural hands-on team leader and influencer
- Role model in servant leadership, develops and empowers teams and individuals
- Process oriented and computer savvy
- Turns up with a growth mindset and can-do attitude.
