Role: VP, BD Excellence Specimen Management (SM)
Reports to: WW President, SM
Location (in-office): Franklin Lakes, NJ
Travel: 50%
Overview:
Reporting to the WW President of SM and serving as a leadership team member, the VP BD Excellence (BDE), SM focuses on four main areas: 1) driving BD Excellence adoption and execution throughout the organization, with primary focus on commercial, innovation, and manufacturing tools. 2.) leading BD Excellence education to grow companywide adoption and acumen. 3.) managing continuous improvement process, with emphasis on visual management, problem solving, and kaizen. 4.) Working with SM and BDX BD Excellence leadership to develop frameworks and training programs to drive the adoption of BD Excellence across the global SM Organization.
In this role, you will be hyper-focused in ensuring that Specimen Management's process optimization andimprovement initiatives are rooted in a deep understanding of commercial driversand client value.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Serve as a thought partner to SM leaders, supporting the adoption and deployment of BD Excellence tools and mindset across departments and regions.
Be a change champion in the development and deployment of BD Excellence as this is new to the organization
Own the deployment of BD Excellence tools through Commercial, Innovation and Manufacturing/Operations
Own Weekly and Monthly SM Business Operations review format and execution in collaboration with the President
Be an expert (can teach and execute) in the BD Excellence fundamentals of VM/DM, Problem Solving, Kaizen and Funnel Management
Partner with Segment BD Excellence leadership to develop tools and trainings to expand the adoption of BD Excellence
Drive BD Excellence education by providing broad coaching and trainings as well as eventually rolling out a certified practitioner program.
Use bowlers, key performance indicators, and action plans to drive prioritization and rigor based on clear metric
Support President in driving key initiatives through BD Excellence, including revenue growth, Gross Profit Improvement and Operational Profit
Develop and facilitate continuous improvement (Kaizen) events to achieve and sustain improvement results
Own and develop BU digitalization strategy to drive efficiency across SM
KSA Requirements (Knowledge, Skill, Abilities)
Significant career experience in an organization where a business system is part of the culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, kaizen are embedded in all aspects of the business
Excellent facilitation skills both in person and virtually. Ability to hold individual’s attention, create excitement, and hold all team members responsible for outcomes
Change champion. Ability to drive culture and change. BD Excellence is new to BD and SM and this individual will need to drive the change management journey
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to gain followership and drive results
Positive attitude and ability to work closely with entire leadership team to drive change, continuous improvement, and engagement throughout the organization
The capacity to plan, organize, & complete projects on time. Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines
Ability to lead teams and drive change in a matrix organization
Entrepreneurial mindset. Individual who can drive progress with limited oversite
Action oriented individual who is highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results.
True love of continuous improvement, measuring results, and problem solving
Team player who can work well across a global organization
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, or a related field, required.
Desired Skill / Experience
Experience in a commercial (Sales, Marketing, Service) setting a must.
Experience in leveraging CRM tools and insights to drive commercial excellence in large organizations (SFDC) is a must.
Experience in Manufacturing is a plus
Certified practioner in lean tools
MBA a plus
Work Environment:
In-office (4 days per week in a BD office, when not traveling)
Heavy US travel required to various BD manufacturing sites and BD's HQ in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
