Job Description Summary

The Finance Business Partner – Canada serves as the primary strategic finance leader for the Canadian commercial organization. This role operates with a high degree of independence and is responsible for providing financial guidance, decision support, and performance insights to the Country General Manager and Canadian leadership team. The position oversees all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis for the Canadian business, ensuring alignment with broader BD strategies while supporting local execution and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior finance partner to the Canadian leadership team, providing strategic insights, operating independently as the senior finance representative, and influencing business partners with data-driven analysis and scenario modeling to drive performance.

  • Lead the complete financial planning cycle including monthly forecasts, annual budgeting and long-range planning, while ensuring accuracy in spending, revenue forecasting, and aligning country plans with global priorities while maintaining local market understanding.

  • Prepare comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages with variance analysis, develop dashboards and KPIs to support decision-making, and provide clear insights to leadership on risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.

  • Conduct detailed financial modeling, ROI analysis, pricing assessments, and evaluate capital requirements and investment proposals while supporting commercial teams with analytics on customer performance, product mix, and market trends.

  • Lead ad-hoc financial analyses to support strategic decisions, identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance forecasting accuracy, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and reporting capabilities.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and influence senior leaders in a matrixed environment.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance principles and internal controls.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, BPC, or similar tools.

  • Proven analytical thinker with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to evaluate complex scenarios and recommend clear solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial insights into business‑relevant recommendations.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 8 years progressive experience in Financial Planning, Business Analytics, Controller, and/or financial analysis experience within a multinational business. roles preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; MBA or CPA (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
