Job Description Summary

The Master Data Specialist will be a key contributor to the successful rollout of Project UNIFY which is our Global Supply Chain Planning platform (Kinaxis). This role is responsible for end to end master data readiness, including data cleansing, transformation, load preparation, validation, and governance. The Specialist will work across Build, SIT/OQ, PQ, and Cutover phases to ensure high quality data migration from ECC/SCM into Kinaxis and support a sustainable master data foundation for long term planning success.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Master Data Assessment, Cleansing & Transformation

• Perform detailed cleansing of production and test‑phase master data across materials, PIRs, source lists, ZLOCALI, PPDS‑related objects, and LOTS files as outlined in the Master Data Plan.
  (Includes repeated cycles of cleansing across Build, OQ, PQ, and Pre‑Cutover.)
• Cleanse transactional data (current and historical) required for planning accuracy, including prep for mock runs and cutover activities.
• Consolidate LOTS and golden data set files, ensuring no inconsistencies during merging.
• Support MRP type changes (e.g., X0 to X4/X5) in alignment with new planning design.
• Identify and remediate data quality issues such as duplicates, missing attributes, and inconsistent naming conventions.

2. Data Load Preparation & Template Management

• Prepare and maintain Kinaxis data load templates (materials, PIRs, source lists, constraints, MOTs) for Build, OQ, PQ, and final Cutover cycles.
• Populate Kinaxis templates using master files developed during the Build phase, ensuring accurate representation of golden data sets for testing phases.
• Execute template uploads into Kinaxis DEV/QA environments in partnership with TCS/Databricks teams.
• Validate load results after each upload cycle and resolve discrepancies.
• Partner with Global Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Distribution teams to understand end‑to‑end processes and the role of master data within them.
• Document cross-functional master data requirements aligned with future-state global planning processes.
• Translate business requirements into data structures, governance rules, and process documentation.

3. Data Extraction, Mapping, and Migration

• Support extraction of production planning data from ECC, SCM, and ZLOCALI tables.
  (Multiple cycles across Build, OQ, PQ, and Cutover.)
• Create, refine, and maintain mapping logic for the full product portfolio, ensuring alignment with the future planning design
• Transfer master and transactional data to Kinaxis (DEV, QA, Pre‑Prod environments) during each migration cycle.
• Support CCR activities in SAP SCM to align transactional data prior to loads.

4. Testing Readiness (SIT, OQ, PQ)

• Define and maintain golden data sets for OQ and PQ testing cycles.
• Prepare load files required for PPDS, material master, source list, PIRs, and ZLOCALI for each test cycle.
• Validate data loaded into ECC, SCM, and Kinaxis during each test phase and support issue resolution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Planning, Transportation, Manufacturing, Procurement) to ensure the right data is available for end‑to‑end scenario testing.

5. Master Data Governance & Process Enablement

• Translate planning process requirements into robust master data rules, structures, and long‑term governance standards.
• Support identification and updating of integration models impacted by UNIFY changes.
• Partner with Business, TGS, Capgemini, Databricks, and system integrators to ensure aligned, cross‑functional data quality.
• Develop documentation, SOPs, and future‑state master data maintenance guidelines.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience with master data management in a supply chain or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes (planning, sourcing, manufacturing, fulfillment).
• Hands‑on experience performing data cleansing, transformation, and validation.
• Proficiency with Excel, data analysis tools, and large data sets.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate with both technical and business audiences.

Preferred

• Experience with supply chain planning platforms (e.g., Kinaxis RapidResponse, SAP IBP, o9, Blue Yonder).
• Familiarity with data migration activities within ERP or planning system rollouts.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality management tools.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
