Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining the operation of all production equipment at or above established standards by performing preventive maintenance on production equipment in accordance with schedules established by department management. The Technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues which arise during the course of their shift. They are expected to work safely and comply with safety regulations as well as maintaining good housekeeping practices throughout the facility.
Shift: 6pm - 6am Rotating
Job Responsibilities
Perform scheduled maintenance on production equipment, utilizing standard tools and specialized test equipment.
Work closely with Production, Quality Control, Engineering and Purchasing Departments to identify and correct problems, remove hazards, improve productivity and/or reduce costs associated with the use of equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed (work orders) on all assigned equipment.
Use computerized maintenance system to update PM’s and open work orders.
Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
Must be able to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
Utilize various hand tools, air guns, vacuum systems, liquid nitrogen, compressed gases, and other necessary equipment to perform required duties.
Wear appropriate protective clothing as needed such as lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
Participate in process improvement projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
Two years experience in mechanical /electrical trade preferred. Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic automated electronic equipment is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of computers and software programs.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing.
Strong organizational skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Basic mathematical skills.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, bend, twist, and reach.
Availability to work overtime when required including weekends.
