BD recognizes the special role veterans and troops play in our mission of advancing the world of health™. Being a military-friendly organization is an important part of BD's commitment to a culture of inclusion and diversity. It's not just for vets, but for all of us. We also know that mission success starts at home, and BD is proud to support the hiring and employment of military spouses. Together we can all support and advance both professionally and personally.

At BD, we have a deep history of honoring those who’ve served our country, that extends back to our founders - whose son’s, Henry Becton and Dick Dickinson served in the Army Air Corp and U.S. Coast Guard. Working with BD is an opportunity to continue serving your country – and the world – in a whole new way that you can be proud of.

Veterans Employee and Troop Support Associate Resource Group (VETS ARG)

At BD, we value veterans, as they bring a unique set of skills, discipline, and work ethic that's often honed by their military experience. Yet, we also recognize the challenges that veterans face when transitioning from a military to a civilian environment. Transitioning veterans often grapple with translating their military skills to civilian roles, adjusting to a less regimented work environment, and dealing with the possible effects of physical or psychological trauma. By offering supportive programs like Veterans Employee and Troop Support Associate Resource Group (VETS ARG), providing mentorship, guidance opportunities and creating a welcoming company culture, BD helps veterans overcome these challenges and successfully integrate into the civilian workforce. Through our VETS ARG, we celebrate veterans every day for their unique skills and team spirit that enrich our company and culture.

Our purpose is to:

Attract veterans and provide structured support and career pathways to successfully transition into the private sector.

Engage associates in celebrating those who have served our country through collaboration with veteran organizations.

Develop existing veterans through professional mentoring & networking.

Retain veterans that contribute to the BD community.

Why you?

We appreciate that you perform at your best when your mission has purpose. Our Purpose – advancing the world of health™ – is our ideal that we’re continuously striving for. We recognize the resiliency, entrepreneurial mindset, adaptability that was required to serve in the military and can benefit from these same attributes within our organization. The confidence, leadership and partnership skills, and experience you’ve gained through your service will help you succeed in a role and with a company that makes a difference to lives all over the world.

At BD, we understand the significant value of veterans and the unique skills and experiences they bring to our mission of advancing the world of health™.
