Job Description
About the Role
As a Data Platforms DevSecOps Engineer at Becton, Dickinson and Company in Bengaluru, you will ensure the smooth operation and security of our Databricks platform. This role offers a chance to compete at top levels and deliver world-class solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Support and Monitoring
- Support the daily operation of the Databricks platform, including job monitoring, cluster performance, and user access.
- Assist with fix platform issues and bring up to collaborators when necessary.
- Monitor health dashboards and logs, responding to alerts in a timely manner.
Automation and DevOps
- Assist in the maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for Databricks code deployment and configuration.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches using Terraform, AzureOps, and related tools.
- Contribute to automation and branching strategies for repeatable tasks to improve efficiency.
Security & Compliance
- Collaborate with the team to apply security patches, update Databricks DBR versions, handle user access, and implement governance policies.
- Support role-based access controls and tagging policies.
- Assist in compliance audits and documentation.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Function BA Leads, BI Developers, and Business to resolve platform-related issues.
- Provide day-to-day operational support to business users in Databricks.
- Document processes, solve steps, and runbooks.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, or related fields.
- Total Experience 5-9 years
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in compliance, data governance, or cloud security roles.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Unity Catalog, workspaces, cluster management, Delta-Sharing, access policies, Data Asset Bundles, and Audit table meta-data).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
- Experience with regulatory frameworks and understanding IT control requirements for SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, GXP.
- Solid skills in SQL, Python, or PySpark.
- Experience with orchestration tools like ADF, Airflow, FiveTran, Qlik, Databricks Workflows.
- Knowledge of APIs (REST, GraphQL, SFTP, MuleSoft, and Webhooks notifications integration).
- CI/CD source control management using Azure DevOps or equivalent experience.
- Experience with mapping controls to technical risks.
Nice to Have
- Fabric Capacity and Fabric/Power BI knowledge.
- Experience with Event-driven (EDX) or State-based orchestration or Near Real-time architecture.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Azure Monitoring, CloudWatch).
- Awareness of DevOps principles, security, and standard methodologies.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
