Job Description Summary

The Freight Audit & Freight Claims Process Officer plays a key role in managing and optimizing the processes related to freight claims and freight audit. This includes the accurate registration, handling, and tracking of claims for product damage or loss caused by carriers, as well as overseeing the outsourced freight audit function. The role serves as the primary liaison between external audit partners, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Freight Claims Management

  • Identify potential outbound claims based on predefined criteria.

  • Act as the main point of contact for all freight claim inquiries and follow-ups with carriers.

  • Monitor weekly data flows and flag discrepancies.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly reports on claim status and backlog.

2. Freight Audit Oversight

  • Resolve transactional, financial, and technical issues related to freight audits.

  • Manage invoice exceptions and ensure correct coding for processing.

  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior management as needed.

  • Coordinate with carriers’ invoicing departments to ensure compliance and accuracy.

  • Present audit performance and insights to management.

  • Support onboarding of new carriers and ensure proper system integration.

  • Maintain and update relevant dashboards and reporting tools.

3. Performance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal process standards.

  • Utilize systems effectively to meet departmental KPIs and goals.

4. Administrative Support

  • Accurately record, update, and track all freight claims in internal systems.

  • Distribute relevant documentation and reports to stakeholders.

  • Support the manager with administrative tasks, including monthly and quarterly reporting.

  • Ensure timely resolution of all transactional and financial issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.

  • Background in a large, multicultural organization is preferred.

  • Experience with freight claims and audit processes is advantageous.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across departments and regions.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

  • Highly organized with a structured approach to tasks.

  • Proficient in digital tools and enthusiastic about technology and process digitization.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office setting.
