This position is responsible for developing/establishing software and system requirements, management of design review and support related validation and implementation activities. It will support further improvements of related software or system including required documentation update and validation activity if required.

Job Responsibilities:(Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)

  • Works independently to specify, plan, design, develop, test and support software components as assigned.  

  • Contributes to project schedule generation including scope of work, duration of tasks, and order of execution.  

  • Monitors work progress against schedule commitments, reports progress to leadership in a timely fashion, including when work will not be completed according to schedule milestones.  

  • Proposes solutions to maintain schedule milestones including prioritizing efforts and monitoring scope creep. 

  • Works with team to establish necessary requirements specifications and test plans for software product validations. 

  • Responsible for translating requirements into design and implementation of well-structured and documented software components.  

  • Implement new software component designs or enhancements to existing software products; participate in the implementation of more complex subsystems and systems  

  • Troubleshoot/debug issues within existing automation systems and implement modifications to resolve these issues.  

  • Participate in technical design reviews and code inspections.  

  • Insure adherence to corporate established development policies and procedures. 

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements including 21 CFR part 11 requirements, BD quality standards, and conveys an expectation of high-quality software.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define requirements, specifications and test plans for software validation.

  • Manage the execution of single or multiple projects/programs, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, scope, and CTW targets.

  • Manage CTW-related activities by identifying cost-saving opportunities, tracking financial impact, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Leads and supports Kaizen and Shingijutsu activities focused on process optimization, waste elimination, and operational excellence.

  • Facilitates and participates in Kaizen events, driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and sustainable improvements.

  • Apply Shingijutsu principles to enhance lean practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Teach and coach BD Excellence concepts and systematic approach, including strategy deployment, core components, Zero Loss mindset and all related methodologies/tools. 

  • Utilizes CI tools (e.g., Tulip, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms) to generate and maintain dashboards, performance metrics, and operational reports.

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement in software systems and business processes.

  • Develops and maintains automated reports and visualizations to support decision-making and performance tracking.

  • Supports digital transformation efforts by integrating data-driven insights into software solutions and process enhancements.

  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team and across departments.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related Computer Engineering discipline.

  • One year of experience working in a regulated industrial environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and operational procedures.

  • Experience with Agile software development 

  • Experience writing code to interact with electro-mechanical instrumentation via communication protocols such as RS-232/485, USB, CANBUS, or TCP/IP 

  • Experience with the Microsoft stack including C# and SQL Server 

  • Must be capable of independent work; self-starter, highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Effective skills on analytical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal relationships, written and oral communication, and planning/organization skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of Industrial/Regulated Environment is highly desirable.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish languages (written, read and oral).

  • Experience of application development in Tulip platform is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of software development in a process oriented/regulated environment and adhering to a quality management system is highly desired. 

  • Knowledge of Automation/Process Control experience

Physical Demands:

The position frequently requires sitting for extended periods while working at a computer, as well as regular use of hands and fingers for typing, handling digital tools, and operating office equipment. Visual acuity is essential for reading code, analyzing data, and working with detailed digital interfaces (near/far vision and depth perception). Occasionally, the role may involve light physical activity such as walking, standing, or reaching for office materials. Minimal lifting, pushing, or pulling lightweight objects may be required.

Work Environment:

The work is performed constantly inside the building.  The work environment has hazards exposures (mechanical equipment, electrical, burns and biomedical).
