The Senior Finance Director supporting the World Wide UCC Business Unit reports directly to the VP of Finance and works closely with Platform VP/GM’s, VP of Strategy and VP of R&D as well as the BU President. The Senior Finance Director is expected to provide the necessary financial and business support to these business leaders for effective decision making.

The Senior Finance Director supporting the World Wide UCC Business Unit reports directly to the VP of Finance and works closely with Platform VP/GM’s, VP of Strategy and VP of R&D as well as the BU President. The Senior Finance Director is expected to provide the necessary financial and business support to these business leaders for effective decision making.  

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and providing analysis of the operating results on a global basis, with a detailed focus on the US, and presenting operating results to the Business Leaders and Segment
  • Oversight of Platform Finance Business partners
  • Leads the preparation of the monthly World Wide UCC GOC and OC packages for the World Wide President and VP of Finance
  • Provides financial support and effectively interacts with departmental management in coordinating month end close within the US
  • Directs the development and consolidation of UCC Global & US Annual Strategic Review, budgets and quarterly projections
  • Supports new business development including; acquisitions, divestitures, licenses and product development
  • Delivers insightful analysis to uncover risks and opportunities resulting in budget beating performance
  • Provides key input to management on business decisions relating to identified issues or trends
  • Supports stakeholders in their execution of the strategic vision and business goals
  • Manages, educates and provides coaching and formal feedback to staff/team of professionals
  • Creates an atmosphere where people are engaged, rewarded for positive progress and share a strong sense of ownership of the organization
  • Develops strategic and organizational knowledge
  • Seeks and takes advantage of professional development opportunities and strives to achieve highest degree of competency
  • Candidate must demonstrate desire and potential to advance to roles within Finance organization which will require higher levels of skill and capabilities


Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in accounting or finance
  • MBA / CPA or working toward qualification is desirable
  • 10+ years’ relevant work experience in Financial Planning, Business Analytics, Controller or related roles
  • Strong leadership skills – ability to lead and serve as an effective team member in a large organization including planning, developing, organizing, directing, managing, and evaluating personnel
  • Candidate should be well organized and possess good analytical and communication skills; analytical skills should include a strong understanding of valuation metrics such as IRR, MIRR, net present value, terminal value, payback period, return on invested capital, etc
  • Candidate must be highly proficient working with MS Excel and reasonably proficient with other common applications such as MS Word and MS PowerPoint; working knowledge of JDE, Business Intelligence, HFM & BPC are a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven, team environment
  • Candidate must be willing to occasionally travel both domestically and internationally; the estimated travel commitment is 10-20%
