Reporting to the BD MMS U.S. Region Marketing organization’s Business Development Manager, the Business Development Representative generates leads and grows sales revenue by promoting products to new and existing customers. This role will collaborate with sales and marketing to expand the business opportunity funnel effectively.
Candidate must be available to work onsite 4 days per week in our Raleigh/Durham, NC BD office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain & expand sales for assigned territory, pass leads / opportunities to Account Executives/Assistant Account Executives.
Contact potential customers through various communication channels to add them to the sales pipeline and generate qualified leads.
Proactively seek new business opportunities in assigned territory and set up qualified meetings (as sales qualified opportunities = SQOs) for field Account Executives.
Handle inbound lead activity as part of rotating schedule with BDR team.
Ability to build and lead a targeted call list for prospecting.
Develop and implement multi-touch email initiatives to attract new leads.
Engage in conversations to identify decision makers among targeted leads.
Learn a diverse portfolio of pharmacy automation solutions.
Develop plans that help to meet and/or exceed sales quota.
Partner closely with assigned Account Executives, communicating activity regularly and through weekly strategy sessions.
Achieve and log specified sales metrics including calls, emails, and CRM activities in Salesforce.com.
Experience:
Associate’s degree or higher in sales, marketing or other customer B2C activity.
1-2 years of inside sales or business development experience required
Ability to collaborate with all levels of internal and external personnel.
Consistent track record of high-level sales successes and driven to achieve results.
Skilled in problem solving.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and ability to quickly adapt to change.
Strong relationship management skills, possess a 'one team' mentality.
Strong organizational skills including attention to detail, adept at documentation, excellent follow-up skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines while providing meticulous and high-quality work in a complex environment.
Proactive, driven self-starter who can work independently.
Exceptional listening skills essential for successful verbal and written communications, customer focus, integrity.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce.com (or other CRM tool)
Work Environment and physical demands
Work will primarily be in an office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing, and grasping often with repetitive motion. Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally. Additional duties may be required as necessary.
