2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Execute safe and precise loading, unloading, bulk picking, put-away, and staging operations. This includes implementing critical safety measures such as ensuring truck tires are properly chocked before operations begin.
- Serve as a vital link between dock operations and office staff, facilitating clear information exchange for all inbound and outbound shipments to maintain operational transparency.
- Meticulously pull truck orders according to shipping documentation, ensuring every customer receives exactly what they ordered, when they need it.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between inventory counts and shipping documents by collaborating with office/inventory staff to maintain impeccable inventory accuracy.
- Carefully inspect products for accuracy, damage, and potential infestation, maintaining our high standards for product quality.
- Demonstrate expertise in forklift operation following all safety protocols and certification requirements, ensuring both personal safety and product integrity.
- Identify and document pallet ID information with precision while adhering to Good Documentation Practices, contributing to our transparent and traceable supply chain.
- Actively participate in our Lean program and physical inventory initiatives, helping us constantly refine our processes for maximum efficiency.
- Develop knowledge of other warehouse positions to provide backup support during absences or peak periods, demonstrating your versatility and team spirit.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain it according to company maintenance procedures, reporting any damage promptly to minimize downtime.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment and ensure proper documentation, including seal numbers and driver signatures, maintaining our commitment to delivery excellence.
Skills:
- Ability to write, match numbers, and identify correct location codes.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lift Truck experience/certification
Safety/Sanitation/Housekeeping
Lean manufacturing processes including 5S must be followed at all times. Keep warehouse and work area clean, neat and orderly. Recognize our customer and BD’s commitment to pride and Quality. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct all activities in a manner that promotes a safe environment. All injuries and accidents must be reported immediately to a supervisor or manager.
